The Department of Computer Science has been a part of the college right from its inception in the year 2003 to meet the demand for well-qualified IT professionals. The department offers BSc Computer Science (3-year UG) ,B.C.A (3-year UG) and MSc. Computer Science (2-year PG) programmes. These programmes focus on theoretical computer science as well as software and application development. The department has well-qualified and experienced faculty dedicated to the better performance of the students.

The department maintains well-equipped computer labs with the latest computer softwares. The laboratories are installed with a high-speed broadband internet facility. The department ensures that programme objectives are constantly met and learning outcomes monitored through periodical tests and assignments. Moreover, the department promotes student seminars, presentations, project work and assignments. Most of the students passed out are well placed or have opted for higher studies.

Scope of the Programme

Graduates and Post Graduates of Computer Science can find jobs in various sectors such as IT departments, banks, multinational companies and colleges in both private and government sectors.

Completing the programme equips students to work in various profiles like software developer, software tester, database developer, data architect, data modeler, quality assurance analyst, mobile applications developer and UI/UX designer, among others. Alternatively, students may pursue research after clearing UGC-NET or GATE and get employed in various research institutes across the country.
