About Department of commerce

The Department of Commerce is one of the premier departments in Sree Narayana  Arts And Science College ,Kedamangalam. Department provides a proficient environment to nurture commerce professionals with a high level of knowledge and competence to effectively contribute to society with commitment and integrity . The department offers  U G programmes B.Com – Finance &Taxation, Computer Application , Travel and Tourism, Co-operation and PG programme M.Com Finance &Taxation.

The Department intends to render academic excellence to its student community in commerce. The curriculum for commerce followed by the M G University is aimed to develop and promote scientific methods in business with special reference to skill development and proficiency for employment.

The students of the department continuously attain University ranks and higher level placements.  Our students undergo internship programs and industrial visits which moulds them to adapt with industrial world which fills the employability gap between institution and industry. Department organises national seminars, workshops, conferences and other intercollegiate meets to pursue career of our students in Research, Business, Commerce, Accounting, Tourism, Marketing etc.

After graduation many of the students  pursue higher degree in prestigious  universities and colleges. We give due importance for the value education, personality development career guidance, etc.

Scope of the commerce courses

“Commerce is a branch of any business which covers the economical part of the legal, social, political, technological and cultural system”. 

The commerce stream offers a wide horizon and opens up a plethora of career opportunities. Commerce courses are the choice of a big community of the students. Commerce is a field for students who have an interest in financial information/transactions, trading of economic value, etc. Students often consider taking up Commerce after completing Class 12. Within the curriculum of this degree, various postulates of business, finance, accounts, taxation, etc., are subsumed.
